Funeral held for victim of New Year's Eve shooting rampage

LONG BRANCH, N.J. (AP) - Funeral services have been held for a woman killed in New Year's Eve shooting rampage at a New Jersey home that claimed the lives of four people.

Roughly 200 mourners filled St. Jerome Roman Catholic Church in West Long Branch to bid farewell to 70-year-old Mary Schulz on Saturday.

Schulz was fatally shot along with Steven and Linda Kologi and the Kologis' 18-year-old daughter, Brittany, at the Kologis' home in Long Branch. Schulz was the longtime partner of Steven Kologi's father, who also was in the house but escaped unharmed with two other people.

Monmouth County prosecutors say the Kologis' 16-year-old son shot the victims at close range with a semi-automatic rifle. But they haven't disclosed a motive for the shooting.
