Getting Results: Flooded Kensington Street
PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) FOX 29 received several reports of a suspected water main break in Kensington that flooded the street for nearly 24 hours. When FOX 29 arrived at Tulip & Tucker Streets the flooding was gone but residents were still concerned.
On top of the flooding, FOX 29 found people worried about a dangerous drop off in the street from the flowing water that was already damaging cars and getting bigger by the minute.-
FOX 29's Bill Anderson reached out to the water department who admitted they weren't sure what caused the flood but promised us they would immediately address it.
FOX 29 waited with residents to make sure the issue would be addressed and true to their word crews were working on the intersection and the main when we left. Most residents were happy; however, some were a little less enthusiastic.
The work on the street has begun and we've been promised that it will be completed in short order. But while we were there residents were sharing strange stories of contractors sabotaging jobs and still had questions about what caused the flood.
