Man, 47, accused of stalking former high school classmate for nearly a decade

A man has been arrested and charged after police say he stalked and harassed a former high school classmate for nearly a decade.

Evesham Township police have charged Ryan Murphy, a 47-year-old Philadelphia resident, with fourth-degree stalking.

Back on May 18, police say the victim reported she had been stalked and harassed by an unknown person for nearly ten years. The victim told police she had received cards, letters, and inappropriate gifts a few times each year. She reported that the activity had recently increased and now included fake craigslist ads, gifts in her mailbox, and letters and inappropriate gifts sent to her employer.

The victim explained to police that she did not know who would have been targeting her or what their motive would have been.

Evesham detectives served internet sites and service providers with subpoenas and were able to obtain records that would lead them to Murphy. Detectives then learned that Murphy had gone to high school with the victim and they had graduated together in 1988.

Police located and arrested Murphy on Monday. He was ordered to be held without bail.
