No decision on charging girl as adult in deadly high school fight
WILMINGTON, DE (WTXF) - It's going to be July before prosecutors will be able to charge a girl as an adult after Amy Joyner-Francis died after a fight in her Wilmington school's bathroom.
The 16-year-old girl charged with felony criminally negligent homicide had a hearing in Family Court on Tuesday, and now there's another one scheduled for July 11.
FOX 29 News has not named the defendant because she is charged as a juvenile at this time.
Joyner-Francis was in 10th grade. She died in April after the fight at Howard High School of Technology.
Two other girls are charged with third degree misdemeanor conspiracy. They're scheduled for trials on June 15 in Family Court. Each could face up to one year in prison.
