Oregon Zoo baby goat already on the go
PORTLAND, Ore. (STORYFUL) - The Oregon Zoo is celebrating a new arrival - a mountain goat kid.
The zoo, based in Portland, has an adult mountain goat named Sassy, who gave birth on May 19. Officials shared footage of the baby goat checking out his new home on its Youtube page.
The new resident is seen climbing around its habitat at only two days old. "While mothers of some species keep their newborns hidden away for several weeks, mountain goat kids are typically on their feet within minutes after birth," the post stated, "quickly learning to navigate their sparse and rocky alpine environment."
The zoo said Sassy gave birth at 8:20 p.m., and by 8:30 p.m., her kid was already on its feet.
