Pastor Accused of Rape Expected to Surrender
WTXF/AP - The Chester County pastor accused of raping and impregnating a teenaged girl has fled the country, but is expected to return and surrender this week.
An attorney for Jacob "Jake" Malone has been in touch with police, and Malone is expected back in town by week's end.
Malone was charged last week with having inappropriate relations with a female victim, in multiple states and over a period of several years. He faces charges including Rape, Institutional Sexual Assault and related offenses.
The Rev. Bill Bateman says Malone worked at Calvary Fellowship in Downingtown for about 18 months before he resigned in November. Bateman says that happened after church leaders learned the girl was pregnant, and about other allegations that Malone has an in appropriate relationship with another female in another state.
