Philadelphia officer recovering after slamming into pole

WYNNEFIELD HEIGHTS (WTXF) - A Philadelphia Police officer is recovering after a single car accident in Wynnefield Heights.

It happened just before 3:00 a.m. Saturday morning at Bryn Mawr and Parkside Avenues.

The officer's car slammed into a telephone pole, and he was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

No word yet on what caused the crash, but preliminary investigations indicate he might have swerved to avoid hitting an animal.
