Police seek suspect who allegedly raped teen girl, beat mother

FRANKFORD (WTXF) - Police have identified the suspect in the brutal crime against a mother and daughter, overnight, as a 39-year-old relative of the victims.

They're looking for Malik Bailey, 39, of Frankford.

The situation started at about 12:30am with a sex assault on a young teenager in their home.

Police say the teen told them Bailey "entered her bedroom where she was sleeping, pulled her from her bed, dragged her to the basement and sexually assaulted her."

She then ran to a neighbor for help and the neighbor called 911.

Police got to the home but nobody answered so they scaled a neighboring home, looked inside, and saw the mother in bed bleeding profusely. They said the 38-year-old looked like she'd been shot.

The SWAT team cleared the property and didn't find the attacker.

The mother suffered blunt force trauma to her head and was missing several teeth. They were found on the bed. She's in intensive care, in critical condition.

Police said Bailey had already run away from the scene naked.
