Santa Monica Pier evacuated due to phoned-in bomb threat
SANTA MONICA, Calif. (FOX 11 / CNS) - A telephoned bomb threat prompted the evacuation of the Santa Monica Pier on Monday, police said.

The threat was received about 12:50 p.m., according to Santa Monica police.

A robot was seen checking vehicles in a parking lot on the usually busy tourist attraction -- which includes an amusement park, restaurants and other concessions -- as police and a sheriff's bomb squad investigated.
The investigation was continuing about 5:30 p.m.
