Second suspect charged in Bucks County double murder

Police have a second suspect in custody for his alleged role in a Bucks County double murder.

Gary Goddard, 48, of Croydon, was arrested Tuesday afternoon and charged with criminal homicide and possessing an instrument of crime in the shooting death of 19-year-old Zyisean McDuffie.

McDuffie and Tommy Ballard, both 19 years old and from Lower Bucks County, were fatally shot around 7 p.m. Friday during a confrontation in front of a home on the 900 block of Elmhurst Avenue.

Also implicated in the gunfire was 19-year-old Joseph Williams of Levittown. He was charged with attempted criminal homicide and related offenses after police said he fired shots at a third man, identified as 23-year-old Jahmier Wilson who fled.

Wilson has not been located, and investigators say it's unclear whether he was wounded by the gunshots.

According to probable cause affidavits, Goddard's teenage son and Williams were those on the lawn outside the Elmhurst Avenue residence when the incident began.

A gray Chrysler 300 sedan pulled up to the property, the affidavits said, and McDuffie, Ballard and Wilson got out. Wilson reportedly beckoned to Williams, and the two men began to argue, while McDuffie began "flailing his fists and arms" at a group of men that included Goddard's son.

The elder Goddard reportedly approached McDuffie and shot McDuffie. After McDuffie fell to the ground, Goddard reportedly stood over him and fired more shots into McDuffie's body.

Goddard has been ordered held without bail. A preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled for May 16.
