Bitter cold temperatures move into our region

Call it a bone chilling pain in the neck.

"I'm still cold. It's freezing!"

It's frigid, even bundled up.

"Two pairs of pants on, two socks, sweeter, hoodie, and hat and gloves, I knew. My mom told me, bundle up. Moms are good like that. They're the best," Joe Calpis said.

Well, not all moms. Most of us, not putting Mother Nature in high regard at the moment.

Shalann Graves said, "I'm just running to the store, and when I came this morning, it want too bad, so I was like, it's gonna be okay. But then I started walking and I'm just like, whoa!"

And for those working construction in the cold through the day, say, high in the sky?

"I been up there where the windows ain't, and it just blows right through."

"Can't feel my hands. They're getting pretty chapped up. My lips are chapped, real bad."

These temperatures are keeping heater repairmen busy, like Val Savkin, with Affordable Fixes. He can't get to the jobs fast enough.

"30, 40 calls today, so."

How many do you normally get?

"Typically, between 12-20. So more than double. You can see the call that's coming in."

Go ahead, take it!

How to survive the cold? You could think warm thoughts.

"It gets warmer and warmer and then it'll be alright. Or maybe your're just numb, and you're not feeling it. Or that!" Ray DiMatteo said.

But if that fails--

"Is there any way to stay warm? Yeah, stay home for the day." Joe Hoffman said.
