Man arrested for kicking pregnant woman in stomach in Center City

PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Police have arrested the man they say kicked a pregnant woman in the stomach outside a Center City Dunkin' Donuts.

On Tuesday, officers arrested 31-year-old Omar Palmer of South Broad Street, charging him with Aggravated Assault of Unborn Child, Simple Assault and Recklessly Endangering Another Person.

Officials say the incident took place around 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 11 on the 1000 block of Arch Street.

The 33-year-old victim, who is 5-months pregnant, was approached by Palmer. The suspect reportedly asked for $2.

Police say when the woman stated she didn't have any money, Palmer kicked the victim in the stomach.

The victim was transported to Hahnemann University Hospital for treatment.
