VIDEO: Suspect attempts to firebomb Galloway Twp. police station

Authorities are looking for the man they say tried to firebomb the Galloway Township police headquarters.

The incident happened on Tuesday around 6:30 p.m. outside the front lobby of the police department.

Surveillance video released by police shows the suspect walking up to the building and pulling out what they believed was a petroleum-based accelerant, and attempted to light it. The suspect then can be seen throwing the bottle on the concrete in front of the entrance doors.

Police say the bottle shattered and splashed the accelerant all of the doors and the lobby entrance, but the contents did not ignite. Several officers were in the lobby at the time of the incident but no injuries were reported.

The suspect has been described as a white male in his mid to late 20s, standing 5'7" with a pale and thing face with scruffy facial hair.

The suspect was last seen running in the area of Jimmie Leeds Road.

Anyone with information about the incident or the suspect is asked to contact police.
